Gingerbread brownies

Ingredients:

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup dark brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tablespoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

Powdered sugar for dusting

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.

Melt butter and mix with brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool in the pan, then dust with powdered sugar before cutting into squares.
