- Combine the flour and salt in a bowl. Make a well in the center and add the yeast, milk, butter, and egg.
- Whisk to combine all the liquids, then gradually incorporate the flour from the sides.
- When the dough begins to form lumps, knead it well until smooth. Shape it into a ball and let it rest for 1 hour.
- Divide the dough into quarters. Roll each quarter into a ball and then roll out into a rectangle.
- Brush two of the rectangles with softened butter, then sprinkle with cheese and parsley. Cover with the remaining two rectangles.
- Gently roll the stacked rectangles with a rolling pin, then cut them into strips.
- Pair the strips together, brushing some more butter in between, and twist each pair.
- Place the twisted strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let them rest for 20 minutes.
- Brush with egg wash and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25 minutes.
