French-inspired Cheesy Meatball Potato Bake

4. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, dried herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

5. Shape the meat mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter.

6. Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray. Arrange a layer of the boiled potato slices on the bottom of the dish, overlapping them slightly.

7. Place the meatballs on top of the potato layer, spacing them evenly. You can press them gently into the potatoes to help them stay in place.

8. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the meatballs, covering them evenly.

9. Repeat the layering process with the remaining potato slices, meatballs, and cheese until you’ve used up all the ingredients.

10. Bake the dish in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the cheese is melted and golden brown.

11. Once cooked, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

12. Serve the delicious French-inspired potato, meatball, and cheese bake while it’s still warm. It makes a fantastic main course or a hearty side dish.
