1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, ketchup, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
2. Place the chicken in a resealable bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag or cover the dish, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for more flavor.
3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
5. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) is reached.
6. Baste the chicken with the reserved marinade during the last few minutes of grilling for extra flavor.
7. Remove chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
8. Slice and serve garnished with chopped green onions.
