Sausage Balls

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or light grease with oil

In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well with hand.

2.5 cups Bisquick mix,1 pound pork sausage,16 ounces cheddar cheese,½ teaspoon garlic powder,¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper,¼ cup milk

Scoop approximately 1 ¼ – 1 ½ tablespoon of mixture and roll into balls. Dough will be thick. If it’s too crumbly, add the ¼ cup of milk.

Place them on the baking sheet about 1 inch apart

Bake for 20 minutes or until they turn lightly brown.

Notes:

Be careful when measuring the Bisquick. To avoid using too much it is best to spoon it into a measuring cup and then scrape off excess with the back of a knife. (or use a kitchen scale to measuring most accurately)

Add up to ¼ cup of milk if the dough is too crumbly.

Jimmy Dean Sausage is my favorite to use.

If you use hot sausage, you can not use the additional cayenne if desired.

Use a stand mixer at low speed to mix ingredients if desired.

The dough will be slightly crumbly. When making into balls you will need to press the ingredients slightly.

Shredding your own cheese is a better option than pre-packaged shredded cheese. If the balls are more dry, this is usually why.
